This is my all time favorite restaurant in New York! It is no surprise it made “The World’s 50 best restaurants” list. This restaurant features modern Mexican dishes that are on another level.

Cosme’s chef-owner Enrique Olivera also has Pujol in Mexico City which is ranked number 13 on “The World’s 50 best restaurants” list. Daniela Soto-Innez is the chef de cuisine, she was named Raising Star 2016 by the James Beard Foundation and winner of World’s Best Female Chef.

I love that they add new dishes on a seasonal basis. One of the staples and must try at Cosme are the duck carnitas and the corn husk meringue with corn mousse. It sounds odd but this is an incredible dessert.

The duck carnitas comes in a large skillet along with blue maiz tortillas and different salsas. This dish is big enough to share. The duck is slow cooked to perfection. If you happen to visit Cosme during brunch, I recommend trying the duck enmoladas. This way you can try the duck and mole at a lower price. I say this because the carnitas are on the pricier side.

The cocktails are delicious. My favorites are the Micheladas and the Mezcal cocktail.

Cosme has so many options to satisfy any palate. If you are a vegeterain, pescatarian or meat lover! I higlhly recommend checking it out.

To learn more about Chef Enrique Olivera, check out Pujol’s feature on Netflick’s Chefs Table (season 2 episode 4, I believe).
