Whenever we travel to a new destination we try to take at least one excursion to explore nearby attractions. In this case, we decided to explore Vinales, Cuba’s countryside. It was a trip we will never forget.

Our trip began at 7 am and ended around 7 pm. We visited a cigar factory, tobacco farm, Pinar del Rio’s rum distillery, a prehistoric mural, and Cueva del Indio that ended in a boat ride out of the cave.

Our guide was incredibly helpful, she made the ride to Vinales go by quickly by providing information about tobacco farming and cigar making. By the time we got to our various destinations we already had a general idea of what to expect.

Pinal del Rio’s rum distillery had a dry and sweet option to try. We were not a fan of the dry option but the sweet option we absolutely love! We bought a bottle to bring home and are keeping our fingers crossed that one of our friends visits so we can get another bottle.

The

Vinales was the highlight of out trip. We got to enjoy so much in just 12 hours. I

Where to book:
There are many online booking sites for booking an excursion to Vinales. Personally, we booked our excursion upon our arrival. We went to the concierge at Hotel Nacional to book a day trip.
